A MAN who attacked his pregnant partner in a row over her phone has escaped a prison sentence.

Kieran Brady, 29, pushed Lynne Craig away from him during the argument then struggled with her, even though she was four-and-a-half months pregnant.

Brady, from Livingston, appeared for sentence at the town’s sheriff court today after earlier pleading guilty to breach of the peace during the incident on June 23.

Sheriff Martin Edington put Brady on a community payback order with 12 months supervision to “educate you about how unacceptable this kind of behaviour is”.

He also sentenced him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to prison.

He told the thug: “You have a very recent offence involving the same complainer. It would be all too easy to deprive you of your liberty and perhaps that’s what I should do.

“However, the fact that there seems to be nothing else outstanding and you haven’t breached special conditions of bail I’m prepared to give you what may be one final chance.”
