Man on bookies raid charge

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged knifepoint robbery at a bookmaker in the Capital.

A three-figure sum of cash was stolen from the Ladbrokes shop in Gorgie Road in the incident, which happened at around 3pm on September 19. Police said the robbery was not linked to previous raids on other bookmakers across the city.

A 26-year-old man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
