Man in court on rape charge

A 20-YEAR-OLD West Lothian man has appeared in court charged with rape.

Zubair Ul Haq appeared in private at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday.

He made no plea or declaration to a petition charge under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act and was committed for further examination.

Ul Haq is from Livingston, West Lothian.

He was released on bail and will appear again in court at a later date.
