A MAN was detained by police after an investigation targeting those who use the ‘dark web’ to trade in illegal goods.

The dark web is a series of websites and content which cannot be found using standard internet search engines and can only be accessed using special software.

The 24-year-old was detained in Fountainbridge on Thursday following a joint operation between Police Scotland and the National Crime Agency, but was later released pending further inquiries.
