A MAN has been treated in hospital after a three-car smash in the west of the city.

Medics and police rushed to the scene of the crash in Drum Brae South after receiving an emergency call at around 4.15pm yesterday.

A 36-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he was checked and treated for a minor neck injury.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said a rapid response unit and paramedic crew were sent to the scene of the collision.

Officers from Lothian and Borders Police said surrounding traffic continued to move slowly throughout the incident and that the road did not have to be closed.
