A MAN is due to appear in court today in connection with a daylight raid on a city jewellers.
Three Rolex watches worth a total of £50,000 were stolen in the heist at Laing, in May.
The culprit then fled through rush-hour traffic on a moped.
The robbery, at Scotland’s oldest family jewellers, came months after a major heist at nearby Rox Edinburgh.
It followed the opening of a new Rolex Room and purpose-built specialist watch workshop in a bid to expand its high end watch business.
The Frederick Street outlet boasts Scotland’s largest collection of luxury watches.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged during the night in connection to the theft at Laing jewellers.”
He will appear at the city’s Sheriff Court later today.
