Man in court over gunpoint rape charge

A MAN has appeared in court accused of raping a woman at gunpoint.

Kenneth Collins, 52, made no plea or declaration and was fully committed for trial at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday.

Collins, from Edinburgh, faces two charges of raping different women, four charges of assault to injury and one of assault to danger of life.

One of the alleged incidents is said to have involved the accused using a loaded gun to force a woman to have sex. Another allegedly involved him pouring petrol on another woman and waving a naked flame at her.

Collins, who was remanded in custody at Addiewell Prison in West Lothian, is due appear again at a later date.
