A FATHER-OF-THREE has been jailed after attacking a man he found in bed with his wife of 17 years.

Craig Scollon, 37, admitted behaving in an abusive or threatening manner which was likely to cause fear or alarm, by shouting and swearing and brandishing a knife on November 22.

He also admitted in Edinburgh Sheriff Court to injuring James McGarrell, 22, by punching him on the head, and breaching a bail order by approaching the house in Burnhead Grove, Gracemount.

Sheriff Scott said: “This is a very serious matter and it often leads to extremely serious or fatal injury.

“I am satisfied that no sentence other than a custodial sentence would be appropriate.”

Scollon was given six months, reduced from eight months due to his guilty plea.
