A MAN has been ordered to stand trial over allegations he took part in a robbery at a George Street jeweller.

Prosecution lawyers claim Elliot Jorgensen, 25, raided the Rox store last month.

Mr Jorgensen, of Greater Manchester, was remanded in custody after appearing in private for the second time on a robbery charge at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration to the allegation at yesterday’s hearing.

Lincoln Warmington, 26, who appeared in court last week on the charge, has now been released from custody while investigations continue, a Crown Office spokesman said.

A third man – Aldaire Warmington, 26, also of Greater Manchester – who was remanded in custody after making no plea or declaration in court on January 28 is due to make a second appearance on Tuesday.
