Masked robber brandished knife at terrified clubbers

CLUBBERS getting ready for a night on the town were confronted by a masked robber brandishing a knife.

A court heard yesterday that Richard Slight, 25, had already served time for offences of violence, including attacking teenagers with a blowtorch.

He now faces serving the rest of that eight and a half years extended sentence before beginning any further jail term for the robbery at a house in the Kingsknowe area of the Capital on August 13.

Slight, of Longstone Street, Edinburgh, was caught after being seen with a massive plasma TV. He also stole £175 from the four female clubbers. Lord Woolman called for background reports, including an assessment of the risk Slight poses to the public.

Slight is due back in court on November 11 in Glasgow.
