Medic chalks up appeal

A PODIATRIST is seeking some unusual donations ahead of a mission to Africa.

Margaret Burns, who works at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, is travelling to Gambia next month to share her medical expertise. But before she leaves she wants donations, not of money, but of chalk and vegetable seeds.

She said: “My part to play is to take vegetable seeds so the children can learn how to grow their own food, and chalk for the nursery children.”
