Meghan Markle wears handbag designed in Edinburgh
Meghan Markle embarked on her first official royal engagement tp Prince Harry's wife-to-be with a trendy bag designed by a Capital-based firm.
The stunning burgundy leather bag - complete with contrast navy blue and white elements and a funky long metal bar clasp - is designed by Strathberry.
The brand was founded in 2013 by designers Guy and Leanne Hundleby and they work out of their premises on the Capital’s Walker Street. The pair set up the business after noticing a gap in bags between High Street and designer ranges. Their now famous Strathberry bag - which was worn by the US actress yesterday - comes in a range of colours - with funky names such as Blossom Yellow and Rainbow Blue -and fabrics and costs £295.
After the Suits star was seen holding the bag it sold out within minutes on the company’s website.
Other celebs to have been seen out and about with the couples’ creations are singers Lily Allen, Shirley Manson of Garbage and supermodel Helen Christensen.
Strathberry work with a craftsmaship team in Spain who produce their leather goods - which have the chic look of brands such as Chloe and Chanel without the hefty price
Other bags that have been worn by Meghan Markle have been quick to sell out with Dahan revealing that their line sold out on the same day as she was seen wearing their bag.
