Miner appeal fund backed

THREE West Lothian Labour politicians have urged support for the appeal fund started for the families of the miners killed at Gleision Colliery in South Wales.

Lothians MSP Neil Findlay, Livingston MP Graeme Morrice and Linlithgow MP Michael Connarty said the tragedy was a reminder of the dangers of working underground.

Mr Finday said: “These are dangers that so many families and retired miners in West Lothian recognise all too well.

“As communities proud of our mining heritage we stand together with South Wales.”
