POLICE in Edinburgh have thanked the public for help after a 13-year-old boy who went missing from the Saughton area returned home safe and well.
Concerns had been raised after Jack Beaton was reported missing, having last been seen on Friday March 6 at around 4.50pm in the Calder Road area, near to Sighthill.
A police appeal was widely shared online and late last night officers said he had been returned home safe and well and was back with his family.
The statement said: “We can confirm that Jack Beaton, who was reported missing on Friday, has returned home. Thanks to those who participated in the search.”
The news was also shared by play centre The yard, who had helped put out the appeal.
They posted: “Jack has now been found and is back home with his family. Thank you for all your support.”
