Mother blasts SuBo thug after ‘horrific’ raid ordeal

A MOTHER has told how the callous thug who robbed Susan Boyle ransacked her house and made off with belongings worth £2000, it was reported today.

Jacqueline Preston, 21, revealed that Scott Millar ran amok in her Livingston home, rifled through her daughter’s bedroom and vomited over her furniture after turning up with a friend on April 9 last year.

Millar, 17, left singer Susan Boyle “hysterical and terrified” after she found him in her house in Blackburn, West Lothian, when she returned from recording a charity single in London last year.

In June, he was fined £80 and ordered to pay £10 in compensation after admitting taking £9 from trousers the star singer had left hanging on a chair.

Today, Millar was set to be sentenced at Livingston Sheriff Court for subjecting Ms Preston to her ordeal while on bail.

Ms Preston, an engineering operator, reportedly said: “Millar is nothing but scum who should be locked up and the key thrown away.

“He robbed Susan Boyle in her own home, terrified the living daylights out of her and he only got a small fine.

“Susan had a very lucky escape. What happened to me will haunt me for the rest of my life, but I am not going to hide.

“My life has been destroyed. If he gets a fine this time, I will be spitting blood.”

Millar admitted stealing a laptop, television and a mobile phone from Ms Preston’s home.

His friend, John Young, was also found guilty of theft at the High Court in Dumbarton on Wednesday after a four-day trial.

Ms Preston said: “I had no idea Millar had robbed Susan Boyle when he turned up at my house. I was having a get-together with friends and my daughter was staying at my parents.”

“One of my close friends brought Millar and Young. They seemed OK.

“If I had known who Millar was I would never have allowed him near my house.

“Later, my friend said he was popping out for a bit but would be back for his pals. He never returned, leaving me alone with Millar and Young because all the others had gone home.

“I was subjected to a horrific ordeal while Millar robbed me and left with all my stuff.

“The robbery has left me feeling totally violated and disrespected.

“I haven’t been able to return to my home since then. I don’t feel safe there any more. How can I take my wee girl back there?

“I have lost faith in the Scottish justice system and I just hope Millar doesn’t walk free from court again.”

Young faced a rape charge for an alleged attack on Ms Preston in her living room but a jury returned a not proven verdict.

Millar also pleaded guilty to threatening police with a meat cleaver, knife and scissors and repeatedly punching Pc Kieran Roberts on the head at a house in Bridgend, West Lothian, in July.
