Move signals more visits to museum

NEW signs have been mounted at Prestongrange Museum in a bid to increase visitor numbers at the East Lothian attraction.

Boardings have been erected along the roadway but new panels have also been installed to tell the stories behind the historic buildings and machinery.

The signage was developed as a result of last year’s consultation with the community and visitors, which showed that new signage was needed to bring more visitors to the museum.

Pupils from Preston Lodge High School were involved in developing the signs, providing feedback on initial designs and saying where they should be placed.

In the wake of the changes, visitor numbers for April more than doubled on the same month last year.
