The SFA is expected to decide today on whether to relocate from Hampden Park to the Capital.

Ms Jardine said she had received many representations from people living close to Murrayfield over what they believe could be the impact on their area and if the SFA decision was to make the move she was keen to meet them and the SRU as soon as possible.

She said: “I’ve spent a lot of time on the doorsteps speaking to residents in Murrayfield over the summer who raised a number of concerns over increased traffic, noise and litter.

“Murrayfield has an excellent reputation for working with the communities to minimise disruption and I know they will want to address these concerns about the challenge of extra football fixtures.

“That’s why I’m keen to ensure that those interests are represented and fears allayed.”
