MSP in party flats motion

AN MSP has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament expressing concern at party flats in the Capital.

The Evening News revealed a new crackdown was being launched earlier this month after it emerged landlords were allowing up to 20 people to spend weekends in properties.

Sarah Boyack, Labour Lothian MSP, said the city council had the power to serve landlords with antisocial behaviour orders in a bid to curb the trend.

She said residents of the Capital were experiencing “continued problems” and face “considerable disruption”.
