Museums’ big nights

All three of East Lothian Council’s museums are opening for a late-night experience this weekend as part of their Lights Out, Doors Open event.

On Friday, between 7pm and 8.30pm, visitors can explore Musselburgh Museum or John Muir’s Birthplace with torches.

Children visiting Musselburgh Museum will be able to try on Roman clothes and play with old-fashioned toys, while at John Muir’s Birthplace, families can take part in craft activities and explore the museum by torchlight.

On Saturday, Prestongrange Museum will allow visitors to go back to the 1960s. Those brave enough can venture outside with their torches to follow an outdoor trail in the dark.
