Net bullying blitz begins

AN internet safety campaign aimed at tackling cyber- bullying has been launched.

Police officers will visit schools in Leith to promote the Online Bullying – Don’t Play The Game campaign, which targets pupils in primaries six and seven.

As well as receiving information from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Unit highlighting safe online practices, pupils will be asked to design a poster on the issue of cyber-bullying.

The winning poster will be exhibited throughout Leith.

Sergeant Colin Johnston said: “This campaign is focused on education so that internet users can identify the types of behaviour that constitutes cyber-bullying and avoid committing these offences.”
