FIRST Minister Nicola Sturgeon has emerged as Scotland’s most trusted politician in a new poll.

The Survation survey found 17 per cent of Scots said they trusted the SNP leader completely, while just four per cent said the same of Labour’s Jim Murphy. However, 47 per cent said they thought the SNP generally “did not tell the truth” about the economic case for independence before the referendum as against 37 per cent who said they thought the Nationalists had been truthful.

Some 19 per cent said the drop in oil prices had made them less likely to vote for independence, while 11 per cent said it had made them more likely to vote for it and 63 per cent said it had made no difference.
