Nursing group in HQ move

NEW offices for the nursing regulator in Edinburgh will strengthen the position of city nurses, officials have said.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) opened its new headquarters in the Capital this week, which will allow for conferences and staff disciplinary hearings.

The George Street facility also increases access for disabled members, with wheelchair access and hearing loops serving nurses across the country.

It will save workers the inconvenience of travelling to England to be reprimanded.

NMC chief executive Professor Dickon Weir-Hughes said: “The opening of Clarendon House in Edinburgh marks a new and exciting chapter in the NMC’s work with our partners across the UK.”
