Oh yes she is . . Ashleigh joins The Krankies for panto

A MIDLOTHIAN actress will join legendary comedy double-act The Krankies on stage after being cast in their latest panto.

Ashleigh Gray, who went to Newbattle Community High School, made her London West End debut in the musical Wicked, appearing as Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West.

She also played the role of Lorraine Campbell, the best friend of Susan Boyle in the musical charting the life of the West Lothian singing sensation.

The panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, being held at Glasgow’s SECC, also stars John Barrowman.

Ashleigh said “Performing in pantomime is such great fun especially as there are so many opportunities to interact with the audience.

“Being back in Scotland for Christmas means that many of my friends and family will be able coming along to see me too.”

Executive director Jonathan Kiley said “We’re really pleased to have Ashleigh joining the cast.”
