One of final Status Quo gigs to be in the Capital

Rock legends Status Quo have confirmed that they will play one of their last-ever gigs in the Capital.

They will perform at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, on July 23.

The originally scheduled date on August 8 last year had to be cancelled due to illness. Special guests Big Country will be joining Status Quo.

The event marks their last tour dates in the UK as the band members will be hanging up their instruments at the end of the year.

Rhythm guitarist Rick Parfitt said: “The show hurts now, physically. It’s hard to maintain that level of energy and without that it’s not really a Quo show. So we don’t feel we should continue. This is definitely the end of our lives on the road with the electric set. Life won’t be the same for us – or many of the fans – but we can’t go on at this pace any more.”
