I tend to be led by my belly on most decision-making processes and it's not been a happy belly recently so I've been following a plant diet to try and be a bit more gentle on my digestive system.

So one Sunday after Leith Rugby training (my eight-year-old, not me obviously), we'd all worked up a bit of an appetite.

We'd been to Leith Links a few weeks prior when we saw lots of happy looking people walking over from yellow tents, holding amazing bowls of hot, steaming food.

My nose and belly got the better of me so we dashed over and saw it was all taking place in the Leith Community Garden.

I was delighted to see lots of local traders serving up pizza, coffee, Japanese delights and my favourite was there too – "The Caravan of Courage", who make the most amazing vegan food.

I ended up buying a bit too much as there were lots of delights on their festive menu.

As I stood munching on a vegan pretzel burger and watching the kids get stuck into their vegan mac ’n’ cheese, the rain started. However, everyone took cover in the tents and the event carried on.

That's how good all the food is! I love how versatile plant-based food is now and how exciting and creative catering outlets have become.

So if you're in Leith next Sunday and your belly's rumbling, look for the yellow tents at the bottom of Leith Links, because that's where the decent scran is! I'll be there too, come rain, hail or shine.
