Stoddard Carpets: Once Scotland’s oldest and largest carpet manufacturer, holding the royal warrant and carpeting luxury passenger liners and stately homes. It ceased to trade in 2005 after a long history hailing back to the 1850s.

Castlebank Dyers: With branches across much of Central Scotland, this popular cleaning and dying company was known for its 1930s advertising slogan: “Mother, here comes the Castlebank man!”.
