John Gibson: To be Frank, you don't look well

FRANK, I meant to have a word with you on Saturday. You didn't look well. Trust me, I'm not a doctor.

But it did look as though you had a stinking head cold and you should have been tucked up in bed rather than gadding about in your best interviewing gear.

However, you struggled on doing what you had to do and you are, presumably, still alive and well today.

Talking about Frank Gardner and it’s always good for the morale to have a fully fit Frank rather than somebody out of sorts.

This is me shouting the odds some 48 hours later with Frank in perfect nick. By this time of course Frank is fully fit and the BAFTAs have been and gone and we’ve had some commentary from Jason Solomons on Sunday night.

There’s been loads of red carpet and I wonder if they have any of it to spare for the hall once the palaver is over.

Cilla charity flop

Shocked and stunned, I was, to discover that the official Cilla Black charity fund in aid of sick children in Liverpool raised a pitiful £143.

The fund “In Memory Of Cilla Black OBE” was launched on behalf of her sons who hoped they would raise cash for their mother’s favourite causes, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Cilla incidentally left an estate of £11 million.

Mumble jumbo

Here’s something I saw on the screen called The Mumbles. Where the hell are The Mumbles, I’m muttering as I leave you.
