Talking of supergroups, Voicex play the Voodoo Rooms on Friday, 18 May.

They are fronted by Suky Goodfellow of Fisty Muffs who is ably joined by Coco, currently with Boots for Dancing, Colin Bendall, who those of a certain age will remember as the drummer with Matt Vinyl & The Decorators, and Paul Research, of post-punk heroes Scars.

Expect a high post-punk celebrity turnout among the audience and when I say support comes from Stirling’s The Fakes, some of you will realise why people are talking about this as one of the gigs of the year. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets £6 in advance from Skiddle.com or £7.50 on the door. Also supporting are Ferramoans.
