Steve Cardownie: How the Kiltwalk can be a pub crawl too
Due to take place in Edinburgh on 16 September, participants can choose one of three distances to walk, the Mighty Stride, the Big Stroll or the Wee Wander.
This fundraising event was developed and underwritten by The Hunter Foundation, which allows every walker to select the charity or local cause that they wish to donate to. For this event 140 per cent of the money raised will go to the participants’ designated charities, so for every £100 raised by a walker, The Hunter Foundation will add another £40 – providing a welcome bonus and added incentive for all.

I will also be taking part but will reserve my decision on what walk to undertake once I have seen the routes and can choose one that promises to be a late summer stroll with a few drinking establishments on the way, rather than the more challenging routes on offer.
