Overhaul for drugs and alcohol partnership planned

AN overhaul is planned for the organisation tasked with helping the city’s drug and alcohol-dependent residents.

The Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership (EADP) wants to improve its services and effectiveness, and has launched a month-long consultation in which it wants to hear people’s views.

It is thought there are around 22,000 people in the Capital dependent on alcohol, but only a tiny proportion are being helped to beat their addiction.

Nick Smith, joint programme manager for EADP, said: “We want to hear as many people’s views as possible, so I would urge anyone who wants to know more about the draft plan to visit the website or contact us.”
