Palace’s ghostly goings-on are sure to raise spirits

A SPOOKY new tour of the remains of Linlithgow Palace is on offer in the approach to Hallowe’en.

The Fright Night ghost walks are being offered by Historic Scotland and will give visitors of a strong disposition the chance to encounter spirited members of the United Ghosts of Linlithgow Yore – also known as the UGLY brigade – as they roam the palace, which was the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Historic Scotland’s assistant events and filming manager, Gillian Urquhart, said: “This is a brand new tour for 2011 based on the history of the palace and its former residents.
