A PAIR of bogus callers tricked an elderly victim into handing over a four-figure sum of cash after pretending they were collecting payment for roof repairs.
Two elderly residents were approached by the conmen in Coillesdene Avenue, Joppa, at around 1pm on Wednesday in separate incidents.
After being asked for payment for roofing work carried out on each property, one of the residents handed over cash while the other turned the pair away.
One of the suspects is described as white, early 20s, 5ft 10in tall, with short brown hair, and a slim build. He was wearing a black and red sweater and a dark jacket.
The other man is described as white, around 27 years old, 5ft 9in tall, slim build, and wearing beige clothing.
A “suspicious” black four-door saloon vehicle was seen in the area at the time, with three men inside.
