TWO pensioners with a combined age of 146 have been cleared of heroin dealing.

William Cassels, 68, and William Perkin, 78, faced the charges at the High Court in Glasgow.

The OAPs were arrested following a large-scale police operation in Edinburgh and Musselburgh last year. Officers seized £135,000 of heroin and £178,000 in cash during raids.

But prosecutors today accepted their not guilty pleas.

Cassels’ son William junior, 46, and Brian Young, 42, admitted the heroin charge and will be sentenced later.
