Aerospace engineering firm Leonardo has more than 60 jobs available in Edinburgh this Christmas

The organisation is currently looking to fill 62 job posts at its Crewe Toll site in Edinburgh, from apprentice roles to experienced hardware, software and mechanical engineers as well as other business functions.

And don't be surprised if you see a Leonardo branded taxi travelling around the streets of the Capital this week in a bid to raise awareness.

The company employs about 2,000 people at its Crewe Toll site and is offering positions across many neighbouring and related disciplines.

Leonardo is one of the 'big four' British engineering companies (with BAE Systems, Rolls Royce and MBDA) which comprise Team Tempest, brought together by the UK Ministry of Defence to create the UK's next generation fighter aircraft which is set to join the RAF's fleet in 2035.

Leonardo in Edinburgh also creates radars used by operators such as the US Coast Guard and the Swedish Air Force.

Mark Stead, SVP Radar and Advanced Targeting, took the helm of the organisation in Edinburgh just three months ago, and already he has observed the high levels of pride and passion that employees take in their work right across the business.

Mark said: “Our Edinburgh business was originally built in a matter of weeks in 1943 to create gyro gunsights for the iconic Spitfire aircraft and today’s technology is just as ground-breaking.
