Andy Murray superfans gather in Edinburgh for charity lunch

A group of Andy Murray superfans gathered in Edinburgh for a charity dinner to support the elderly.

Around 20 loyal followers of the Scottish tennis star met Twenty Princes Street and raised over £120 which will be used as a gesture for two pensioner couples to enjoy Christmas lunch at the restaurant.

The fan group, named TE-AM77, was set up by Tom Elliot, from Surrey, after he was selected by Barclays Bank amongst 5500 other hopefuls to award Andy Murray the coveted ATP Tour Finals Trophy live at the 02 in London.

Speaking of the fan meet up in the Capital, Tom said: “The day was a celebration of Andy Murray and his achievements to a sport our members love. Edinburgh was such a fitting venue for this meeting given the passion one support Andy receives from a proud Scottish nation.”

The fan group have held four previous lunches in Scotland and England, even extending to a gathering in Amsterdam earlier this year.
