1. The Pear Tree
Out of all the pubs in Edinburgh, The Pear Tree was the name which came up the most when our readers were asked their favourite pub gardens. This craft beer bar in sunny Porty has just renovated its much-loved beer garden for guests to enjoy on April 26. Portobello Tap has a range of ales and draught to choose from, including from Scotland's independent breweries. www.portobellotap.co.uk

4. The Balerno Inn
The family-run Balerno Inn can be found just outside of Edinburgh, near the stunning Pentland Hills. Its beer garden has a children's play area and twinkles with fairy lights on an evening. There's heating blankets, and even outdoor bothies if it gets chilly. www.balernoinn.co.uk
