Edinburgh Dobbies seeks cheery applicants to become Santa this Christmas at grotto with social distancing and mask wearing

Do you have what it takes to fill Santa’s boots this Christmas? Can you stay in character and create memorable experiences for children and their families?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then why not apply to become father Christmas at the Dobbies garden centre’s Santa’s grotto in Lasswade.

Store bosses are looking for hard-working, reliable and enthusiastic candidates with a cheery personality who are able to stay in character - and applicants must be aged 28 or above.

In partnership with Great Grottos, the magical experience is one of the most anticipated events in the Dobbies’ Christmas calendar and aims to create memorable moments for visiting families and children.

Face masks and distancing

The grotto experience will be different this year with santa and his elves adhering to social distancing guidelines with children selecting their own gift.

Face coverings will also be worn and children over the age of 11 will also have to wear them.

According to the job advert, a full training programme will be provided for successful candidates where you will be provided with “clever techniques and fun dialogue.”

Work will begin from November 14 and wages will be paid fortnightly.

Tickets for Santa's grotto are available to book online, with customers encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Customers can also book with confidence, with a full refund provided by Dobbies if the event is cancelled.
