Puregym will open its doors to time-pressed workers in the Capital on Monday, July 23 as part of the national health drive.

Five gyms across Edinburgh Exchange Crescent, Edinburgh Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh Quartermile, Edinburgh Waterfront and Edinburgh West will all be eligible.

It comes following research from the Smarter Working Initiative which found over half – fifty eight per cent – of British workers are “too tired” to exercise during the working week, because of long commutes and rigid working hours.

The Smarter Working Initiative (SWI) is a nationwide campaign encouraging businesses to let their employees work flexibly for one day.

Jason Downes, founder said: “Workers are struggling to get as much exercise as they’d like due to strict, inflexible working hours and tiring commutes. Work-life balance and a healthy lifestyle go hand in hand.”
