Iconic ice-cream shop Luca’s closes its stores ‘until further notice’ due to new lockdown rules

Much-loved ice-cream parlour S. Luca has closed its Morningside and Musselburgh branches until further notice due to the latest lockdown rules.

The family-run business shared the news on social media, thanking customers for their support during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A Facebook post reads: “Thank you to all our customers who have come into our shops over the last few weeks.

“Although we made a lot of changes to make it safe for you, due to new guidelines we must close until further notice. But don’t cry, you can get all your favourite ice cream, chocolates and snowballs online. Simply log on to www.lucasicecreamshop.co.uk and have it delivered to your door contact free.”

New tighter Covid restrictions have come into force in Scotland, with changes for takeaway outlets and click and collect shopping.

Customers buying takeaway food and coffee are no longer allowed inside premises.

Staff must serve from a hatch or doorway.
