The kunekune pig has been looked after by SSPCA at its Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre after his owner could no longer care for him.

An appeal has been launched to help find the animal a new home, which actor Kevin Bacon has shared on his Twitter profile saying “help a fellow Kevin find a home?”

The pig is a four-year-old neutered male.

Diane Aitcheson, the SSPCA centre’s manager, said: “We would love to find Kevin the forever home he deserves.

“He would love a home in a farm type setting in the Edinburgh area with someone who has experience with pigs and the relevant CPH licence to keep them.

“He loves fruit but hates potatoes and is always happily grunting away to anyone who passes.

“Kevin will need to an appropriate setup with an insulated shelter that will keep him cool in the summer and warm in the winter, as well as having a suitable fence to keep him secure.

“He likes to play with his treat ball and enjoyed playing with and eating a pumpkin at Halloween. His new owner will need to regularly change his enrichment games to prevent him getting ‘boar-ed’.

“Kevin is a big, friendly chap so might even be suited to a home in a petting zoo or similar where he can get lots of attention and ‘hog’ the limelight!”

If you think you can give Kevin Bacon a new home, apply via the Scottish SPCA website.
