Lewis Capaldi is leading the way in this year’s Brit Awards nominations after the shortlist was revealed on Saturday.

The Someone You Loved singer is nominated for four of the coveted awards meaning he has the joint most nominations at this year’s ceremony along with Mercury Prize winning rapper, Dave.

Following the shortlist reveal, Capaldi took to Twitter to announce the news.

“Have been nominated for four Brit Awards!” He wrote, “From the s**t awards to the Brit awards, dreams can come true.

Capaldi’s debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, grabbed the first number one album of the decade last week while his single ‘Before You Go’ which was released on the album’s extended version is currently sat at number two under Stormzy’s ‘Own It’.

The two will also go head to head in the Best Album, Best British Male and Best Song categories at the awards ceremony which will take place on 18 February.

He is also nominated for a Grammy for his charttopping single Someone You Loved.
