Shannon Napier, a young NHS nurse from Fife, died yesterday (25 April) after giving birth to her daughter, aged just 24.
In an emotional tribute, Shannon’s fiancee, Jordan Burt, said: “I’m just devastated that you can’t be the mummy you’ve always wanted to be. I still can’t believe you are gone.”

“You made me proud every single day: as the lyrics go, “you are the reason I breathe, you are the reason I still believe” – you are my amazing #NHSHero and I’ll be giving you the biggest round of applause ever on Thursday night baby,” said Mr Burt.
“The NHS has lost a terrific young nurse who was so caring and compassionate and was only at the beginning of your journey to the very top,” he added.
A fundraiser for Shannon’s memorial service has already raised almost £10,000 of it’s £500 target. Donations can be made here.
