Willowbrae Road: Man dies in fatal crash in Edinburgh

A 63-year-old man has been killed in a road crash at Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 5:40pm on Tuesday (July 14), and the driver of a Mercedes van was pronounced dead a short time later.

Hide AdPolice closed the road between Ulster Crescent and Northfield Crescent for around four hours to carry out an investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland was made aware of a road crash involving a Mercedes van at Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh around 5.40pm on Tuesday, 14 July.
“The 63-year-old male driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“His next of kin are aware.
"No other vehicles were involved in the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
