Person killed in A1 crash

One person has died following a 'serious' road traffic collision on the A1 this morning.

The route was closed in both directions for several hours after two vehicles collided on the northbound carriageway around 7.50am.

It is understood two motorists were involved and a man in his fifties was transferred to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service attended.
