Person killed after being hit by train on Edinburgh-Dunbar line

A person has been killed after being struck by a train between Dunbar and Prestonpans.

A person has been killed after being hit by a train in East Lothian.

British Transport Police and paramedics were called to the incident shortly after 3pm on the rail line at Drem.

ScotRail services between Edinburgh, North Berwick and Dunbar were subject to delays and alterations from about 3:30pm until about 5pm.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “Some services were subject to delay and alteration earlier today. Sadly, this was due to a person being struck by a train.
