Pervert faces jail over child porn hoard

A PERVERT who kept more than 200 images of children being sexually abused on his computer has been told to expect a lengthy jail sentence.

Gary Dean used file sharing software to download 214 photographs, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard.

The 47-year-old, of Forrester Park Grove, Edinburgh, was snared after police received intelligence suggesting he had pictures of children being abused by paedophiles.

When the first offender was arrested by officers, Dean told them: “You find stuff on there and it gets out of hand.”

He pleaded guilty to one charge of downloading illegal images from the internet between Christmas Day 2010 and April 25, 2011

Sheriff Arthurson deferred sentence until next month for background reports.

He also placed him on the Sex Offenders’ Register.

Sheriff Arthurson added: “Given the gravity of this offence, the court is very much considering custody.”
