A PERVERT handed a care worker a letter inviting her to engage in a sex act with him.

Terry Tinsley made the lewd suggestion after he stopped the woman outside a sheltered housing development where she worked looking after an 87-year-old woman.

The shocked carer – who can’t be named for legal reasons – immediately told her bosses and contacted the police after the incident on September 30, Livingston Sheriff Court heard.

Tinsley, 52, from Broxburn, West Lothian, was arrested and charged with breach of the peace.

He pleaded guilty today to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person fear and alarm by handing the carer a letter containing “sexually explicit” remarks.

But Tinsley’s denial that he asked the woman to pass the letter on to her 87-year-old patient was accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff Martin Edington adjourned sentencing until next month for background reports.
