Pervert set for sentence

A PERVERT who sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl after sneaking into her bedroom during a party faces life in jail.

A judge was told Mohammed Akram had killed as a teenager and was still on licence after serving time for a sex attack on a 16-year-old student.

A trial heard Akram, 52, left guests at a New Year party held to see in 2011, at a house in Edinburgh, to commit the offence. The girl gave evidence in a video interview, telling how Akram came into the room, pushed her on to a bed and touched her over her clothes.

Akram had denied the claims, but was found guilty.

Lord Brodie ordered an investigation into the risks Akram might pose to the public, which could lead to a life sentence. The judge ruled he should remain in custody until sentencing.
