PFANS chair in council role

THE chair of the Portobello for a New School (PFANS) group has been appointed to an office bearer position on the town’s community council.

Sean Watters is now co- secretary of Portobello Community Council alongside Diana Cairns, of anti-school campaigners PPAG, after replacing Nick Stroud at the community council’s AGM on Monday.

John Stewart’s position as chair was contested by Ben McLeish, but he retained the role, winning a vote 13/7.
