Police confirm Argyll remains are missing Yulia

POLICE have confirmed human remains discovered in Argyll are those of missing Russian student Yulia Solodyankina.

The body of the 22-year-old was discovered in woodland near the A83 west of Arrochar last Thursday.

Yulia’s Moscow-based family have been informed.

Yulia, who was studying physics at Edinburgh University, was reported missing on June 12 last year sparking a nationwide missing persons hunt.

She has not been in contact with friends or family since June 6 after leaving The Wee Red Bar in Lady Lawson Street at around 9pm and was last seen on CCTV at Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow at 4.55pm on June 7.

There are no suspicious circumstances in connection with the death.
